It wasn’t a great weekend for Kent’s non league clubs with Ebbsfleet losing, while Bromley, Dover and Folkestone went out of the FA Trophy.
There were better results for Tonbridge Angels, Dartford and Welling United as they all earnt replays in the Third Qualifying Round of the Trophy.
Conal Platt, Simon Russell and former Gillingham defender John Nutter were on target for the Imps as Ebbsfleet made it two defeats in the past week and on loan Charlton defender Yado Mambo saw red just before the end for Liam Daish’s side in the 3-0 loss.
Bromley crashed out of the FA Trophy at Hayes Lane with Alex Stanley giving the visitors the lead before Danny Waldren’s penalty levelled matters.
Uchechukwu Ikpeazu put Didcot back in front just before the break and Richard Pierson’s header sealed the win thirteen minutes into the second half.
Welling United were held to a 2-2 draw at Thamesmead Town with Theo Fairweather-Johnson giving the home side an early lead before Andy Pugh and Lee Clarke put the Wings in charge.
With just seconds left to go, Fairweather-Johnson equalised forcing a replay at Park View Road on Tuesday night.
Folkestone Invicta’s hopes of making it through were soon ended when Staines went three goals up with Frankie Chappell scoring a consolation for Neil Cugley’s side.
Dover Athletic tasted defeat at the hands of Boreham Wood losing by a single goal with Dartford having to play Eastbourne Borough after the two sides played out a goalless draw.
